Foundation Subjects

Here at Grimsdyke School we endeavour to present the students with a curriculum that is engaging, innovative and challenging. We pride ourselves on having outstanding practitioners at the front of our classrooms. Delivery from outstanding practitioners leads to outstanding learning.

The students are at the centre of the curriculum at Grimsdyke and as a result they are encouraged to become motivated, resilient, resourceful and reflective learners. To achieve this, students are presented with a broad and balanced curriculum where the “creative” approach is fostered and students are given the opportunity to develop skills to become “lifelong learners”. This in turn makes the learning exciting and memorable.

Our creative curriculum approach allows the freedom for teachers to facilitate and engage students in their learning whilst also presenting them with memorable learning experiences that.

While following the National Curriculum, teachers are encouraged to develop theme orientated planning where different curriculum areas can be integrated for the learning experience to be at its most powerful.
